Dr. Walid Faraj

DO

Dr. Walid Faraj, DO brings more than a decade of hands-on clinical experience in integrative functional medicine. As a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, board-certified family physician, and board-certified integrative holistic medicine practitioner, he has spent 10+ years helping patients move beyond symptom management by identifying and addressing root causes. His mission is simple yet profound: find the underlying cause of illness rather than merely managing symptoms.

Growing up in Southern California after being born in Venezuela, Dr. Faraj was immersed in a household where three languages and cultures intersected daily. English, Spanish, and Arabic were woven into family conversations, fostering an early appreciation for different perspectives and ways of thinking.

While completing his family medicine residency at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center following his 2001 graduation from Michigan State University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine, his father was diagnosed with ALS, a progressive neurodegenerative disease. Once the diagnosis was confirmed, no further evaluation was pursued. His father was given a walker, prescriptions for physical therapy and an antidepressant. Despite all his medical training, Dr. Faraj felt helpless watching specialists conclude that nothing more could be done. That frustration became a turning point and set him on a path to find more effective approaches for chronic and complex health conditions.

That search led him to spend seven years at a Native American health clinic in Northern California. Working alongside tribal communities, he witnessed how traditional practices, strong social connections, and spiritual grounding contribute meaningfully to healing. Inspired by these experiences, he pursued and obtained his board certification in integrative holistic medicine.

Today, drawing on over 10 years of integrative functional medicine experience, Dr. Faraj focuses on immune health, gut function, detoxification support, hormones, and nutrition as core pillars of wellness. He welcomes patients at every stage of their health journey and takes pride in creating individualized plans through genuine collaboration.
