Processed meats are meats that have undergone processes to enhance their flavor or extend their shelf life, such as salting, curing, fermentation, smoking, or the addition of chemicals. While people generally associate processed meats with red meats, any meat can be processed.

Studies find that processed meat can raise inflammation and increase the risk of cancer, type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disorders, and other chronic conditions.[2] All of these factors can directly contribute to lymphatic problems and a weakened immune system.

  • Ham

Efferent vessels then carry filtered lymph out of the lymph nodes to other nodes or back into the bloodstream. Impaired afferent lymphatic circulation in HBP implies that waste products may accumulate in tissues instead of being filtered.

This ultimately means that lymphatic system toxins may increase.
